Presentazione: Legacy Recordings, la divisione cataloghi di Sony Music Entertainment, e RCA Records pubblicheranno la colonna sonora originale di "EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert" di Baz Luhrmann il 20 Febbraio. Una raccolta di 27 registrazioni presenti nel film in uscita, con mix aggiornati di iconiche performance dal vivo, insieme a nuovi remix e medley di classici di Elvis. La pubblicazione della colonna sonora accompagnerà l'anteprima cinematografica di "EPiC: Elvis Presley In Concert", che arriverà nelle sale con un'esclusiva di una settimana in IMAX (NYSE: IMAX) il 20 Febbraio, seguita da un'uscita cinematografica globale di NEON e Universal Pictures International il 27 Febbraio. "EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert" offre un'esperienza cinematografica unica nel suo genere, in cui Elvis canta e racconta la sua storia come mai prima d'ora. Durante le riprese del suo film del 2022 "Elvis", Luhrmann e il suo team hanno scoperto un tesoro di negativi e filmati a lungo nascosti negli archivi della Warner Brothers, originariamente registrati per i documentari "Elvis: The Way It Is" (che racconta la sua permanenza a Las Vegas nell'Agosto del 1970) ed "Elvis On Tour" (girato durante i suoi concerti negli Stati Uniti del 1972), oltre a filmati 8mm inediti ed audio mai ascoltati prima di Elvis che parla della sua vita. Presentazione: All'inizio del suo ultimo tour del 1974, Elvis Presley si è esibito alla University Of Notre Dame - Athletic and Convention Center di South Bend, Indiana, per due sere iniziando il 30 Settembre. Il secondo concerto del 01 Ottobre, come presentato in questo set, è stato rimasterizzato e mixato in formato stereo per la prima volta in assoluto. Elvis era in migliori condizioni di salute e di umore nel secondo concerto, durante il quale si è lanciato in una esecuzione spontanea di "Steamroller Blues", come da richiesta del pubblico. All'inizio del mese di Dicembre avevamo ricevuto la triste notizia relativa alla chiusura del negozio "Tupelo Hardware", presente nella città natale di Elvis Presley da ben 100 anni, a far data dal 31 Dicembre 2025. Per tutti noi, è stato come vedere un altro pezzetto di storia di Elvis andarsene. Infatti è stato proprio in quel negozio che i suoi genitori, per il suo 11° compleanno, acquistarono la sua prima chitarra al prezzo di 7,75 dollari. "È un argomento delicato", ha affermato George Booth III. "Mi rendo conto che molte persone coinvolte nella comunità di Tupelo hanno visto nascere e scomparire molte attività iconiche, e le hanno viste adattarsi al cambiamento. Noi siamo tra queste. Ci inseriamo perfettamente." Il bisnonno di Booth aprì la ferramenta di Tupelo nel 1926. Suo padre, George Booth II, ha fatto parte dell'attività per tutta la vita, ma recentemente ha dovuto abbandonarla per problemi di salute. E' stata questa la motivazione che ha spinto verso la difficile decisione di chiudere il negozio. "Purtroppo, dobbiamo chiudere questo negozio. Le cose sono cambiate. Il mondo cambia. E se lavori nel commercio al dettaglio, devi apportare cambiamenti, e non c'è modo di evitarlo".
Il negozio è da sempre tappa dei fans di Elvis che si recano in città, insieme all'Elvis Birthplace and Museum, per posizionarsi sulla famosa "X" e per ascoltare i racconti del negoziante, che ha cercato di mantenere il negozio immutato in tutti questi decenni. Stephanie Coomer, direttrice esecutiva del Tupelo Convention and Visitors Bureau, ha affermato che il Tupelo Hardware è uno dei "luoghi più autentici dell'esperienza Elvis", insieme al luogo di nascita. Ha aggiunto che la famiglia Booth era amata anche per il suo contributo alla comunità. Di fondamentale importanza per la famiglia Booth è che chiunque acquisti o affitti l'edificio riconosca e mantenga il posto del Tupelo Hardware nella storia di Tupelo e della musica. Ed ecco che arriva la buona notizia: la Città di Tupelo ha deciso di acquistare il Tupelo Hardware Store! I funzionari hanno annunciato questa settimana che la città ha raggiunto un accordo con la famiglia Booth, proprietaria della Tupelo Hardware Company, per l'acquisto del famoso negozio. L'accordo arriva dopo che il Consiglio Comunale di Tupelo ha votato all'unanimità per l'acquisto di due dei tre edifici che ospitano la Tupelo Hardware Company, insieme al parcheggio di Court Street adiacente a uno degli edifici. Il sindaco di Tupelo, Todd Jordan, ha dichiarato: "La Tupelo Hardware Company è una parte importante della storia di Tupelo. L'opportunità di acquisire questi edifici storici garantisce che la storia di Tupelo continui a svolgersi e che cittadini e visitatori da tutto il mondo possano sempre varcare le porte del 114 di West Main Street". Scopriremo nei prossimi mesi cosa la città di Tupelo intenderà fare di questo luogo, ma le premesse sono tutte a favore del mantenimento del ricordo di Elvis Presley.
L'etichetta francese RDM-Edition ha pubblicato il vinile ed il CD "Elvis Presley: Blue Moon / Good Rockin' Tonight" come parte della serie "Mono II Stereo". Presentazione: Questo nuovo singolo contiene due tracce iconiche del periodo Sun in una versione restaurata nuova di zecca, realizzata da Anthony Stuchbury, il quale ha creato un nuovo remix del brano "Blue Moon" registrato negli studi Sun e pubblicato dalla RCA. In questa nuova versione si può ascoltare Elvis Presley mentre canta "Blue Moon" accompagnato da Ricky Nelson alla chitarra acustica (presa dalla sua registrazione di "Lonesome Town") e dai Jordanaires in qualità di coristi. La versione Mono II Stereo di "Good Rockin' Tonight" offre un mix che rispetta il sound originale Sun, ma con dettagli moderni. Presentazione: FTD Vinyl è felice di annunciare la pubblicazione di "Good Times - The Outtakes", un doppio LP numerato in edizione limitata di solamente 3500 copie di colore blue oceano. La prima pubblicazione su vinile della FTD di Agosto 2010 arrivò molto prima della grande revival su vinile di molti anni dopo. A causa delle poche vendite dell'epoca, le pubblicazioni FTD da tempo fuori catalogo ora hanno raggiunto prezzi esorbitanti online ed alle fiere del disco. Per andare incontro ai nuovi collezionisti di vinili che si sono persi alcune di queste rare pubblicazioni di Elvis, la FTD ha intenzione di ristampare diversi titoli chiave molto richiesti, a partire da "Good Times - The Outtakes". Presentazione: Questo magnifico set si focalizza sul tour di Aprile del 1975, iniziato il 24 Aprile a Macon, Georgia, e terminato il 07 Maggio a Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Questo doppio LP contiene le registrazioni originali realizzate il 25 Aprile ed il 28 Aprile 1975. Le registrazioni sono fedeli all'originale, in mono. L'etichetta Elvis Concert Fan ha pubblicato il CD "Elvis: Bridge Over Troubled Water" in cui si ascolta il concerto di Elvis Presley del 31 Agosto 1971 (Midnight Show) all'Hilton Hotel di Las Vegas. Il CD è disponibile con due copertine diverse, di cui una creata con l'intelligenza artificiale. Presentazione: Un nuovo CD con una registrazione ambientale del concerto del 31 Agosto 1971. Elvis terminò questo concerto con "Bridge Over Troubled Water" anziché "Can't Help Falling in Love", che fu praticamente il più bel momento dello spettacolo! Questo è un concerto davvero bello con canzoni come "It's Impossible", "Blue Suede Shoes / Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On", "I'm Leavin' " e "Lawdy Miss Clawdy". Forniamo questo spettacolo in edizione limitatissima di sole 350 copie con due copertine diverse (175 copie per ciascuna). Abbiamo una copertina normale ed anche una versione con l'abito indossato da Elvis durante il concerto, ma creato con l'intelligenza artificiale perché non è disponibile nessuna foto accettabile), così potete scegliere quella che preferite.
