Un nuovissimo CD è ora disponibile! "The Joan Deary Tapes - Volume 1" offre alcuni contenuti nuovi di zecca ottenuti un paio di anni fa dalla collezione personale di Joan Deary. Dopo aver digitalizzato attentamente questi nastri, ora siamo in grado di condividere qualcosa di speciale.
Il CD offre contenuti unici, con diversi mix ed alcune outtakes mai pubblicate prima, e rappresenta l'inizio di una nuova serie di CD.
Ascoltate il modo funky e diverso in cui Elvis canta la take 7 inedita di "If You Don't Come Back" - oppure una nuovissimo outtake del medley "Nothingville - Guitar Man" dal Comeback Special del '68.
Alcuni mix molto diversi come "Why Me Lord " dal "Recorded Live On Stage In Memphis" e una straordinaria "Amazing Grace" possono essere ascoltati insieme ad altri brani dal suono spettacolare, come le versioni live di "Release Me" e "America The Beautiful".
Ogni traccia ha una qualità audio eccezionale ed è stata rimasterizzata per un piacere di ascolto ottimale; mentre il digipack è pieno di note di copertina, informazioni e nuovissime foto inedite.

N.d.R.: Joan Deary a partire dal 1954 divenne segretaria di Steve Sholes, entrando a far parte del personale della RCA. In seguito, dal 1972, divenne assistente del vicepresidente Jerry Hankins e  responsabile del catalogo di Elvis Presley presso la casa discografica, producendo negli anni successivi anche molti album. Tra questi il box "Elvis Aron Presley".

BAZ LUHRMANN - INEDITI FILM "ELVIS ON TOUR" E "THAT'S THE WAY IT IS"

Pochi giorni fa, sul suo profilo Instagram, il regista del film "ELVIS" Baz Luhrmann è tornato a parlare dei filmati inediti dei docu-film "Elvis: That's The Way It Is" ed "Elvis On Tour".

Dopo la realizzazione del suo film, aveva promesso ai fans che si sarebbe occupato personalmente della pubblicazione ufficiale ed in buona qualità di tutti i filmati inediti dei suddetti docu-film.

Nel suo post ha rilanciato, scrivendo: "Un titolo in stile TCB che so che molti di voi stanno aspettando di sentire... E' vero che abbiamo trovato molte bobine di nastri di filmati mai visti di "Elvis On Tour" e "That's The Way It Is". Rimanete sintonizzati".

Noi rimarremo sintonizzati e vi daremo notizie man mano che arriveranno...

LIBRO - MY TREASURED MEMORIES OF ELVIS / PUBBLICATO

La casa editrice danese Memphis Mansion ha dato notizia della disponibilità del libro di Judy Palmer Bendewald "My Treasured Memories of Elvis" nel loro negozi in Danimarca e online.
La nuova versione è di 200 pagine ed ha copertina flessibile.
Judy Palmer ha dichiarato:
"Dal 1956, gran parte della mia vita è stata plasmata da Elvis: le sue canzoni, i suoi film, i suoi concerti ed i suoi fans. Aveva un modo di entrare in una stanza e riempirla di luce solare: ha dato moltissimo di sé attraverso i suoi film, la musica, i concerti... un bacio, una stretta di mano, una sciarpa, uno sguardo, un sorriso e la sua meravigliosa personalità".
Il libro è disponibile in lingua inglese ed in lingua danese.

Come previsto, è stato puntualmente pubblicato da Sony Legacy l'album "Elvis Sings The Wonderful World Of Christmas".
Presentazione:
"Elvis Sings The Wonderful World of Christmas" è il quindicesimo album in studio di Elvis Presley, pubblicato in Ottobre del 1971. E' stato il suo primo album di Natale con nuove registrazioni dall'album "Elvis' Christmas Album" (1957).
Il singolo dell'album "Merry Christmas Baby" / "O Come All Ye Faithful" fu successivamente pubblicato in Novembre 1971. Questo album fu un best-seller e raggiunse la vetta della Billboard Holiday Albums Chart.

CD - ELVIS: THE KING IN THE G.O.A.T.'S HOMETOWN

L'etichetta E.P. Collector pubblica il CD "Elvis: The King In The G.O.A.T.'s Hometown" in cui si ascolta il concerto inedito del 23 Luglio 1976 al Freedom Hall di Louisville, in Kentucky.
Presentazione:
L'etichetta E.P. Collector è tornata dopo quasi 3 anni con una pubblicazione unica del concerto di apertura del tour di Elvis, che ha avuto luogo a Louisville il 23 Luglio 1976.
Il CD si intitola "The King In The G.O.A.T.'s Hometown" (EPC 2023-26). Sì, è lo spettacolo di Elvis nella città natale di Muhammad Ali.
Ogni concerto di apertura era speciale e questo non fa eccezione. Ascoltate l'ottima predisposizione di Elvis in grande voce e buon umore.
Il concerto del 23 Luglio 1976 non è mai stato pubblicato precedentemente ed è stato realizzato da registrazioni ambientali recentemente scoperte; non è mai stato disponibile nella sua interezza ed in una qualità suono ascoltabile - fino ad ora!
Accuratamente restaurato e rimasterizzato in Settembre 2023, con l'obiettivo di preservare l'integrità della registrazione originale. Purtroppo alcune imperfezioni sono presenti, ma abbiamo ritenuto più importante preservare la naturalità della registrazione originale.
Il suono è molto buono per essere una registrazione ambientale.
Tutte le immagini all'interno provengono dal tour di Luglio / Agosto 1976.

Sony Legacy ha pubblicato l'album "Elvis' Christmas Album" del 1957.

"Elvis' Christmas Album" è il terzo album in studio ed il primo album di Natale di Elvis Presley. Ha trascorso quattro settimane al numero 1 della classifica Billboard Top Pop Albums. Secondo la RIAA, "Elvis' Christmas Album", comprese le ristampe, ha venduto almeno 17 milioni di copie negli Stati Uniti.

Qui a Rocksvegas abbiamo utilizzato una nuovissima cassetta per lo spettacolo del 18 Agosto 1972 qui rappresentato.

ASTA - VENDUTA CHITARRA APPARTENUTA AD ELVIS PRESLEY

Si è chiusa il 24 Settembre 2023 la vendita presso la casa d'aste "Gotta Have Rock And Roll", durante la quale è stata venduta la chitarra usata da Elvis Presley durante i film "Blue Hawaii" e "G.I. Blues".
Il prezzo stimato aveva un range dai 200.000 ai 500.000 dollari, ma il prezzo finale è stato solamente di 82.000 dollari, con un prezzo minimo di partenza di 25.000.
La chitarra era così descritta:
Chitarra acustica Gibson J-45 di Elvis Presley utilizzata nei film, di sua proprietà e che utilizzava anche personalmente.
La scritta "Gibson" sulla paletta è stata oscurata. Elvis ha usato questa chitarra nei suoi film della Paramount "Blue Hawaii" e "G.I. Blues". Secondo la lettera di Charlie Hodge, potrebbe aver usato la chitarra anche in "King Creole", poiché anche quello fu una produzione della Paramount.
All'interno della chitarra è stampato "Property of Paramount Prop Department" ed anche il nome di Elvis è stampato all'interno.
Secondo Charlie Hodge, Elvis di solito portava a casa le sue chitarre usate nei film ed ha suonato questo strumento nella sua casa di Los Angeles e a Graceland.
Provenienza: originariamente dalla collezione di Charlie Hodge. Charlie incontrò Elvis per la prima volta quando era con la band "Foggy Mountain River Boys". I due si incontrarono di nuovo quando prestarono servizio nell'esercito americano in Germania. Divennero presto amici intimi e Hodge visse a Graceland fino alla morte di Elvis nel 1977. Charlie cantava insieme ad Elvis sul palco, porgendogli le sue sciarpe ed ha partecipato anche come comparsa a molti film di Elvis.
Autenticazione: lettera di Charlie Hodge testimoniata da George Klein e certificato di autenticità "Gotta Have Rock and Roll".

In occasione di un evento del Fan Club "Flaming Star", Ernst Jorgensen e Pål Granlund hanno dato alcune informazioni relative alla prossima pubblicazione dell'etichetta "Follow That Dream", che avrà come titolo "Elvis Now In Person: 1972" e la cui pubblicazione è prevista per Novembre 2023.

Il box sarà composto da due libri, che saranno focalizzati sul periodo che va da Gennaio ad Aprile 1972, e da 4 CD nei quali si ascolterà tutto materiale relativo al periodo.

SET 2 CD - ELVIS ON TELEVISION 1956 - 1960

L'etichetta Memphis Recording Service, sotto il nome della loro nuova etichetta "MRS CAMDEN", ha deciso di pubblicare nuovamente a partire dal 24 Novembre 2023, in versione economica, il set 2 CD "Elvis On Television 1956 - 1960".
Il CD avrà un prezzo più contenuto rispetto al passato, il libretto avrà meno pagine rispetto alla pubblicazione originale, ma sarà un'ottima occasione per i nuovi fans per entrare in possesso di questo materiale.
Presentazione:
I 2 CD contengono le registrazioni audio d'archivio complete delle esibizioni televisive di Elvis Presley dal 1956 al 1960, rimasterizzate e restaurate. Includono interviste ed esibizioni dal vivo allo "Stage Show" dei Dorsey Brothers, allo show di Milton Berle, di Steve Allen e di Ed Sullivan.
Per la prima volta in questa versione della Memphis Recording Service, a differenza della versione precedente, c'è un acetato di nuova provenienza, scoperto di recente, dell'esibizione di Elvis allo spettacolo "Frank Sinatra Timex" nel 1960. E' stata fatta un'operazione di rimasterizzazione completa delle tracce direttamente dai file di trasferimento originali ottenendo i migliori risultati.
