Elvis Presley arriva a Memphis in licenza straordinaria, dopo aver discusso con i suoi superiori per riuscire ad ottenerla, per stare vicino a sua madre Gladys, che è stata ricoverata al Methodist Hospital a causa delle sue gravi condizioni di salute.Andando a trovarla, incontra Judy McCreight, una bambina di 9 anni, al Methodist Hospital ed è attirato dalla spilla che lei indossa.
Elvis è in ospedale per fare visita a sua madre, mentre Judy è in visita ad un componente della sua famiglia, che ha avuto un incidente. I due ammalati sono ricoverati allo stesso piano dell'ospedale.(Non si sa la data esatta della fotografia, ma è stata scattata durante i 3 giorni in cui Elvis è riuscito a stare accanto a sua madre in ospedale prima che lei morisse).

Per alcuni mesi i fans di Elvis Presley non avranno più bisogno di andare a Memphis per visitare Graceland, perché è Graceland ad andare da loro.Per commemorare il 25° anniversario della morte di Elvis Presley, la Elvis Presley Enterprises ha dato vita a "Mobile Graceland", una mostra itinerante che porterà Elvis Presley in oltre 30 città in tutti gli Stati Uniti d'America.
All'interno della mostra si possono ammirare vestiti, gioielli, strumenti musicali e molti altri oggetti appartenuti alla più grande star di tutti i tempi.

A Graceland, Priscilla Presley si unisce al Direttore delle Poste Americane, Megan Brennan, nella cerimonia in cui viene mostrato il nuovo francobollo commemorativo dedicato ad Elvis Presley, dal titolo "Elvis Forever".L'immagine di Elvis Presley presente sul francobollo risale al 1955 e venne scattata dal fotografo William Speer.
In basso a sinistra, tra le parole "Forever" e "USA" c'è l'immagine di una piccola corona dorata in rappresentanza del soprannome "King Of Rock'n'Roll" dato ad Elvis.
La firma di Elvis Presley è in inchiostro dorato.
Lanciata nel 2013, la serie di francobolli "Music Icons" ha già reso omaggio ad altri artisti prima di Elvis Presley: Lydia Mendoza, Johnny Cash e Ray Charles, Jimi Hendrix e Janis Joplin.
La USPS aveva già reso omaggio ad Elvis nel 1993 con un francobollo che il Smithsonian’s National Postal Museum ha definito il francobollo commemorativo più famoso di tutti i tempi.Il testo seguente fa da bordo al blocco da 16 francobolli:
