Il primo album dal vivo di Elvis "Elvis In Person" venne pubblicato come doppio vinile insieme a "Back In Memphis". L'album divenne disco d'oro in meno di due mesi dopo la sua pubblicazione. Non ci si stupisce che la RCA decise di registrare un altro album dal vivo all'inizio del 1970.
Il risultato è "Elvis On Stage", in cui sono raccolte le esibizioni di Elvis di Febbraio del 1970 all'International Hotel di Las Vegas. Vennero incluse anche due incisioni, registrate per l'album "Elvis In Person", ma rimaste inutilizzate. L'intero progetto venne prodotto da Felton Jarvis e conteneva sovra-incisioni ed applausi.
Le registrazioni qui presentate sono, per lo più, non doppiate o presentate in mix unici. La maggior parte delle tracce proviene da acetati quasi perfetti contenenti quei mix unici.
L'album originale "Elvis On Stage" è diventato disco d'oro solo 8 mesi dopo la sua pubblicazione.
Un motivo potrebbe essere che l'album non conteneva i soliti vecchi successi che ti aspetteresti da un album dal vivo. L'album dimostrava che Elvis era cresciuto oltre i suoi successi ed era diventato un intrattenitore a tutto tondo. In questo cofanetto sono presentate anche due esibizioni dal vivo complete degli spettacoli di mezzanotte, registrate subito dopo che la troupe della RCA se n'era andata.
Proprio come tutte le registrazioni di questo set, anche queste vibranti registrazioni del pubblico sono rimasterizzate digitalmente per un piacere di ascolto ottimale.
